“May” Meeting – The Continuing Convergence of Building Science and LEED

Wall system choices influence the durability, health, safety, comfort and efficiency of buildings. The ever-increasing challenges presented by increased design and material complexity, increased airtightness and insulation values will be outlined. This session will help to identify the importance of key weather barrier, air barrier and thermal barrier details to optimize performance of your buildings.
Learning Objectives:
• Understanding the total thermal effectiveness of wall systems and how/where to safely increase it.
• Identify construction detail options for the installation of different exterior insulation strategies.
• Meeting the air tightness objectives of codes and energy programs.
• The importance of weather barriers and comprehensive details to maintain a durable structure.
